Things to do in Charleston SC, while visiting the bridge, is spending a nice evening at one of Charleston SC Mystery Theatres.  The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre, SC is located at 164 Church Street Charleston, South Carolina 29401.

It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to deduce that if you love a good mystery… or need a good laugh… The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre is the solution. ​Our audience-interactive comic mysteries run most evenings in our cozy location next to the downtown City Market. You can volunteer to play a character or choose to stay out of the spotlight and enjoy appetizers, homemade desserts, and drinks including beer and wine. Is this live theatre?  – Yes, you’ll be watching a comic mystery play in a cozy theatre where the cast performs alongside volunteer audience “actors!” All the room’s a stage and the audience members are players in the show. (You do not have to volunteer.)

What do audience volunteers do?  – At the top of the show volunteers are provided scripts. When it’s their turn, they simply stand at their seats and read their parts.

Is it Broadway-style theatre?  – Uh … no. While our shows are scripted, we’re casual, often silly, and highly interactive. This is a small Mom & Pop theatre (literally) with a big reputation for good times.

Is it dinner theatre?  – Let’s call it “dessert & drinks” theatre. Guests sit at booths and cocktail tables close to the action, enjoying appetizers, homemade desserts, beer, wine, teas and sodas. (Food & drink are separate from the ticket price. See our menu.)

Are the shows “clean”? – The shows are directed towards adults but there’s no bad language and nothing crude. No children under 6 please — they tend to get ALL the attention!

Is this a comedy or a mystery?  – Both, but our main goals are to make you laugh and to give volunteer audience members the chance to be the stars, so the shows are predominately comic. Though in the end the audience does always get their chance to solve the mystery.

How long is a show?  – Approximately 2 hours.

What should I wear?  – Dress is casual but bring a sweater or light jacket – we keep it cool!
